I was unaware of the disparity in price between goods in the United Kingdom and goods in New Zealand.
That's a significant gap. Usually, even when currencies are changed from one to another, you hope that prices for basic food items will remain within the same range.
Even worse, most of the time the countries that you expect to have higher prices are those that have big cities. I would have expected the UK to have higher food prices for that reason. Doesn't New Zealand produce its own flour, etc. Why do consumers encounter this gap in prices?
