Medieval village opens for business

THE first event for a Wairarapa historical village will be staged towards the end of this month.
Not content to move to New Zealand without dressing up in leather or chain mail and dueling or jousting, Wairarapa couple Mike and Lara Ferguson are building their very own historical village. And on the 23rd-24th May they will host the "Longbush Fling".
"Come and see historically accurate catapults and other Weapons of Medieval Destruction for this weekend of educational fun."
- Pull the pin on a full size trebuchet, largest in the Southern Hemisphere
- Stand upon the ramparts of a Roman Fort and inspect the garrison
- Visit the King at the Round Table
- Witness a clash of arms as Knights fight for your pleasure
- Launch a two foot bolt from a Roman arbelast
- Try your hand at archery, axe throwing, spears and more
Longbush Fling - Catapults and Crossbows
Weekend 23rd - 24th May
10 Eringa Road, Longbush, Wairarapa
